COVID-19 insurance update 4/17/2020*
As of 4/17,  most private plans cover  telemedicine visits with your own doctor (or a new doctor) for all matters, not just coronavirus. To be sure, please call your plan to ask for their procedure or website. Please keep a record of who you spoke to and when, or any websites that state their policy. Some are waiving co-pays and co-insurance for all visits.  Medicare and Medicare Advantage Patients: We can provide covered telemedicine visits to members in all states while the Health Emergency continues.
You can still come to the office if you need a visit. We can also offer an outdoor visit if weather permits. For essential office visits, we are masking, practicing physical distancing, use an enhanced sanitizer, and have no more than four people in the office at any time. We ask that any visitors wear masks. For help on making a simple mask, click here.Â
Dr. Cheikin is also offering private (non-covered) phone and telemedicine (Zoom) visits.
For more information on office and tele-visits, click here.
Yoga is now on Zoom! Limited on site space as well. CLICK HERE for more information.Â
Please check back for frequent updates.

Our Core Program is how any person will begin. This involves a series of visits where we evaluate your deficiences, lifestyle, food, infectious, toxic and stress factors. It is complete when you have a food plan, supplement plan, exercise plan, and stress management plan. This approach does not focus on how many diagnoses you have accumulated, but instead the root cause factors that lead to illness and aging.
Based upon your goals and motivation, we then layer on more specialized programs which can include Gut, Detoxification, Hormones and Metabolism (including Thyroid, Sex and Adrenal, Diabetes and Iodine), Pain, and Aging. Most Brain issues are secondary to gut, toxin and hormonal dysfunction. Recently leading scientists and countries have reclassified Aging as a disease unto itself, and the root cause of other secondary conditions that we call cardiovascular disease, cancer, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dementia, arthritis, fatigue and others.
Our Thyroid Program is a part of our Hormones and Metabolism program. Due to the high priority of the thyroid, the following additional posts are provided:

Gut Program
The gut has several roles, digestion being its primary but not only role.
Digestion is the process of intake, breaking down, assimilating, detoxifying and then eliminating. Digestion has several phases, and involves a significant amount of our internal real estate. Not including our eyes and nose, our formal digestive system begins with our then mouth and continues with the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, and ends with the rectum and anus. The various organs that attach to this tube include the liver and gallbladder, pancreas, appendix, omentum, as well as the nervous system (called the enteric plexus or second brain) that is within the walls of the tube. Any part of this tube can affect any other part of the tube. Upper gut dysfunctions include dental and sinus issues, throat and tonsil issues, esophagitis and reflux disease and ulcers. Lower gut dysfunctions can look like diseases of the liver, gallbladder and pancreas, small and large intestines and colon. Pain and cancer can affect any part of the tube.
