Legumes are a family of vegetables which are actually the seeds of the plant.  They are toxic if not cooked via heat, fermentation, or sprouting. They are generally high in lectins, a protein that can be toxic in some people., which is why they are excluded in the Paleo food plan.

Black Beans
Chickpea
Garbanzo
Green Beans
Kidney Beans
Lentils
Lima Beans
Peanut
Peas
Soy
