Immune, Allergy & Infection Program
Lyme disease, caused by infection with the BB spirochete, is an endemic disease. When considered with the variants and co-infections, including Anaplasma, Babesia, Bartonella, Ehrlichia, and other infections, it is probably a pandemic.

As a part of our Holistic Program, Dr. Cheikin uses various herbal remedies to help with your healing. He will support your use of Medical Marijuana (MM) as a part of your healing protocol. He does NOT see patients exclusively to provide a MM card. If you are a current patient, Dr. Cheikin can certify the need for medical marijuana with the Pennsylvania Department of Health. You will need a doctors note confirming that you have one or more of the 23 eligible diagnoses listed to the right. If you are receiving treatment from Dr. Cheikin for an eligible condition, he can provide both the doctor’s note and certification.
Fees (Current Patients Only)
Initial certification (in-person Zoom evaluation): $150
Follow-up certification within 15 months: $125
Discount available for seniors and those with hardship.
Insurance does not cover this fee.

Gut Program
As you can see below, testing for food sensitivity is controvercial. There are two main ways of testing, objective and subjective. Objective testing provides some degree of quantification. However the rates of false positivity and false negativity, as well as the weakness in specificity, reliability and reproducability require a good amount of caution in applying their results. Subjective testing, using the patient as their own control, has two phases, elimination and challenge. Either or both elimination and challenge can provide quality information about individual response, but it can also exacerbate symptoms and have other undesirable effects. The Test Dose Protocols developed by Dr. Cheikin are designed to “ping” the system, as gently as necessary, obtaining results that can be very clear. In some cases, due to delayed effects and/or combined/sequential effects, detecting single and combination foods/agents is tedious.
Since most food sensitivities ultimately reflect some degree of gut dysfunction, Without any clear survival value to a food allergy, identifying the decoy and misprocessing provide a healing path. Most of us develop some degree of cumulative dysfunction. The processes of repair and maintenance, while inconvenient, are less troublesome in most cases than the problem. Being patient as a patient is probably the most difficult skill but will provide the most reward.

Covid Program
COVID-19 is highly contagious which means that everyone on the planet will be exposed to each new variant. Severity of illness will ultimately rest squarely upon an individual’s immune system. From the data, over 80% of cases are mild or asymptomatic.
Allergy, the Common Cold, Influenza and Coronavirus look similar. The table on the right can help distinguish symptoms, but there is high overlap and the symptoms are changing with the new variants.
Immune support includes vaccines, antibodies, and natural ways to enhance immune system function and kill the virus. We have collected various preventive and treatment protocols, available to registered users, in the menu above. Vaccine long-term safety, duration of effect, and effectiveness for variants (mutations) is still a moving target.
Main-stream media are missing the boat (intentionally?) by focusing on vaccines and scary stories, while minimally covering preventive measures. Testimonials such as those by numerous highly-credentialed physicians before the US Senate in December 2020 (click here) are inspiring and provide real possible alternatives and adjunctive measures. Several holistic doctors have been cited by the FTC when reporting their successes using holistic methods (see Mercola.com). Dr. Mathias Rath, who published papers with Linus Pauling, recommends additional supplements such as lysine (more below and to the right).
Dr. Cheikin can test for nutrient levels, toxins that impair the immune system, and certain aspects of immune functioning for patients after individual factors are considered. More individualized concerns and needs can be addressed in (Zoom) office visits.

Gut Program
Leaky Gut Syndrome is becoming a popular topic in the mainstream. It has been known about and utilized by holistic practitioners for almost 20 years. While it is helpful to treat leaky gut, the pitfall is that almost everyone these days has a certain degree of “leakiness” due to modern lifestyle. Antibiotics, certain vaccines, pesticides, and other toxins directly and indirectly (by changing gut ecology) cause leakiness. There is no direct or reliable way to measure leaky gut, other than by its clinical features, reviewed in the article (click on image).

Herpes viruses are a HUGE family of viruses that affects everyone. There are hundreds of species which are classified by science. There are nine types which conventional medicine has established as causes of illness in humans and other species. There are probably many more. (This discussion also pre-supposes the existance of viruses as distinct entities, which may not be fully true).
We mostly know of type 1 (HSV1) which causes canker sores, type 2 (HSV2) which causes genital herpes, type 3 (varicella) which causes chicken pox and shingles, type 4 (EBV, “Epstein Barr”) which causes “mono,” fatigue and is associated with many chronic conditions.
Here are good references for more information. There will also be specific information on the main types as information unfolds.
