Intra-crinology refers to the intracellular metabolism of hormones.  There is growing data that many cells (especially in the pituitary, brain, other places) can make some of their own hormones. This renders blood, saliva, and virtually all lab tests of limited value. We CAN measure cellular effects by watching our symptoms and functions.
