Oxytocin is a naturally-occuring hormone, called the “love hormone” since it is associated with feelings of connection, love and joy. It is involved with sex, breast feeding and the neurotransmitter dopamine.
Oxytocin is available as a compounded prescription, a nasal spray. It has been helpful for some children and adults with autism, anxiety, and related conditions.
