In general, many of the products and services at the Center for Optimal Health are eligible for use of HSA funds. However, your needs and individual circumstances might be different. Always consult with your accountant before making such decisions. The IRS maintains a brochure regarding the allowable uses of an HSA.
Contact the HSA administrator or the bank holding the HSA funds to learn their required procedure. Keep records of all expenses and disbursements!
Pharmaceuticals: Call 911 for any emergency situation. For refill matters, have the pharmacy call the hotline. For other pharmaceutical matters, call Dr. Cheikin\’s hotline. Any changes to medications should be under supervision of a licensed prescriber.
Supplements (Nutriceuticals): Options: 1) Stop any new supplement first; 2) Play with the dosing (as low as 1/4 of the dose initially tried) and timing (move to earlier or later in the day, or with a different meal if applicable; 3) Call Dr. Cheikin using the hotline if your concern cannot wait.
